Revenue Development and Sponsorship Representation

Challenge
Special Olympics USA Games set a goal to raise $15 million in revenue for its 2018 event in Seattle, Washington. The leadership team recognized the need to enlist an experienced marketing firm to develop a next-level sponsorship strategy and to lead the organization’s substantial revenue development efforts moving forward.

Solution
Caravel conducted a detailed review of Special Olympics’ existing initiatives, assets and materials. Based on its findings, Caravel recommended a revised packaging and pricing strategy to better distinguish various levels of sponsorship, as well as a new sales approach and process.

Outcome
Caravel developed a new asset inventory system that has served as a valuable tool for informing the selling process. New sponsorship sales materials were created that better reflected the organization and the opportunities available. The concerted effort has been a great success—to date, more than 60 percent of the budget has been realized under the new revenue development plan.
