Challenge
As the Washington State Department of Transportation prepared for the grand opening of the world’s longest floating bridge—the SR 520—the planning team recognized that strategic guidance from a top-notch marketing firm was integral to a successful sponsorship and fundraising effort.

Solution
Caravel had a limited timeframe in which to provide critical support to the WSDOT team and got to work quickly securing media partners. A sponsorship and fundraising plan was then developed and implemented, including the design of marketing collateral and the creation of a sponsor activation process.

Outcome
Sponsorship, fundraising and media outreach efforts led by Caravel exceeded the WSDOT’s revenue goals. Caravel brought together an unprecedented group of sponsors for the grand opening including Coca-Cola, Delta Airlines, HDR, Kiewit-General-Manson, Microsoft, Parson Brinckerhoff, PCL, Schneider Electric, University of Washington and Virginia Mason.
