Revenue Development and Sponsorship Representation

Caravel was retained to lead the revenue development efforts to achieve a revenue goal of $16 million for the Special Olympics USA Games.

Caravel recommended a revised packaging and pricing strategy to better distinguish various levels of sponsorship, as well as a new sales approach and process to differentiate between a sponsorship sales effort and a philanthropic fundraising effort.

A new story was created to better reflect the organization and the opportunities available. An aggressive outreach campaign was launched, and the collaborative effort achieved the goal, and the USA Games were a tremendous success, establishing a new standard for Special Olympics.

Seafair is an iconic community organization with a strong desire to increase sponsor ROI, attract new sponsors, and improve operating processes.

Caravel’s work began with an in-depth assessment of Seafair’s sponsorship program to identify opportunities for growth. Caravel provided team training and coaching, shared best practices and industry insights, and implemented new sales process frameworks.

In collaboration with the Seafair team, a new long-term sponsorship strategy has been implemented to create customized programs, elevate the visibility and integration of sponsors and enhance the partnership value.

Seattle Center, a 74-acre campus located in the heart of Seattle, hosts 500 programs, 5,000 shows and events, and 12 million visitors every year. The organization set out on a mission to grow its sponsorship initiatives and employ a more strategic approach to incorporating partners into programming, attractions and special events. Caravel was retained to develop and negotiate sponsorship marketing programs to integrate seamlessly into Seattle Center’s campus.

Caravel created customized programs to benefit visitors and enhance their overall experience, while simultaneously achieving the marketing objectives of the sponsors. Contract negotiations led by Caravel resulted in achieving a $1 million goal and multi-year official partnerships with brands including Coca-Cola, Starbucks, Alaska Airlines and T-Mobile. For five years, Seattle Center partnered with Caravel for strategic consulting and representation services. 

Sponsorship, Branding and Technology Consulting

The Oklahoma State Fair enlisted the expertise of Caravel to evaluate three critical areas within the organization to accelerate revenue growth: assess the technology assets and performance; evaluate the sponsorship effort; and recommend the validity of a rebranding effort.

Caravel conducted a comprehensive assessment and developed an insight and recommendation report that explored opportunities to increase sponsor value and improve operating efficiencies. Caravel evaluated the digital marketing efforts, platforms, and data integration to determine effectiveness and incorporation of sponsors. We analyzed the potential benefits, challenges and costs associated with a rebranding initiative. Following the first phase, the fair continued its work with Caravel to facilitate the development of an annual organizational operating plan and to guide the process of a website redesign.
